  1. Hunter Hurst Helmsley def. Goldust (c) with the Pedigree (for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship).  Marlena was on the ring apron trying to escape from Chyna then Goldust mistakingly ran into Marlena.  Marlena fell into a bearhug by Chyna and Goldust was pinned in the ring.
  2. Ahmed Johnson def. Farooq via DQ when the Nation of Domination attacked Farooq.  "Psycho" Sid ran into the ring to help clear the NOD from the ring.
  3. Mil Mascaras def. Cybernetico with the Huracanrana
  4. Bret Hart def. Vader (c) by DQ when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin attacked Bret Hart outside the ring.  Hart and Austin continued to fight until they were held back by many officials
  5. Shawn Michaels won the 1997 Royal Rumble for the 2nd year in a row
AFTERWARD:
  • Shawn Michael's back worsened after the Rumble match and his doctor recommended he stop wrestling.  Michaels was forced to forfeit his #1 contendership.  There was an 8-man tournament that determined the #1 contender on the RAW TV tapings with the Undertaker emerging as the winner.
