Bret "Hitman" Hart (c) def. Diesel by reversing a JackKnife attempt into a small package.  After the match, Diesel turned heel by delivering a JackKnife to Hart.

AFTERMATH:

  • Shawn Michaels suffered a serious knee injury and surrendered the title to "Dean" Douglas who was the #1 contender at the time.  Eventually, Razor Ramon defeated Douglas for the Intercontinental title
