  1. The Dream Team (Valentine & Beefcake) & "Luscious" Johnny Valiant def. The British Bulldogs &Captain Lou Albano when Beefcake pinned Albano after delivering a high-knee to the face.
  2. Piper's Pit featuring Mr. T.  Piper challenges Mr. T to a boxing match at Wrestlemania.
  3. Hulk Hogan (c) def. Hercules via DQ when King Kong Bundy interfered and attacked Hogan in the corner repeatedly with avalanches (For the World Heavyweight Championship).  Hogan was taken back to the locker room on a stretcher.
  4. The Fabulous Moolah (c) def. Velvet McIntyre with a power slam (for the World Women's Championship)
  5. Andre "The Giant" wins the first ever Royal Rumble match.  (see results below)  AFTERMATH:  Andre "The Giant" was supposed to get a title shot against Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania, however Hogan pleaded with Andre to let King Kong Bundy get the title shot.  Andre reluctantly agreed.  Hogan promised to give Andre a title shot in the future but Andre said, "That's not necessary. You are my friend."
  • Players from the NFL felt that the Royal Rumble was "cute" and issued a challenge to the WWF wrestlers for a "real" battle royal at Wrestlemania.

    I wish you had posted the results of the Rumble. I realize thats hard work, but just a pointless gripe.

      Your point is definitely valid. I'm hoping to add more detail soon as I just wanted to put out a results list first then add more detail like WWF Magazine used to do.

Jake Roberst via countout.  During the match, Jake mocked Ricky Steamboat which prompted Steamboat to appear at ringside.  Roberts and Steamboat confronted each other outside the ring but Roberts lost track of the referee's count. Big John Studd def. JYD with the brearhug.  JYD was distracted by Heenan on the ring apron while Studd snuck up from behind and put JYD into the bearhug. Hercules def. Ricky Steamboat.  While Hercules distracted the referee, Roberts entered the ring and DDT'd Steamboat.  Hercules then pinned Steamboat. Paul Orndorff def. Magnificent Muraco.  Muraco held Orndorff while Mr. Fuji attempted to hit Orndorff with his cane.  Mr. Fuji hit Muraco instead, knocking him out. Tito Santana def.
