- Demolition def. Billy Jack Haynes & Ken Patera when Ax hit Haynes with the decapitation
- "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan def. "King" Harley Race with the flying clothesline
- "The Rock" Don Muraco & The Ultimate Warrior def. "The Natural" Butch Reed & The One Man Gang when Warrior hit Gang with a high cross-body while Muraco was lying down behind Gang's knees. Gang tripped over Muraco and the Warrior landed on top of OMG for the pin.
- Andre "The Giant" def. Hulk Hogan (c) when the referee mistakingly counted 3 when Hogan had his shoulder up at a 2 count. Andre surrendered the title to Ted DiBiase after the match.
- "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase won the Royal Rumble when Andre tripped Jim Duggan during an Irish-whip. Duggan argued with Andre while DiBiase snuck up from behind and threw Duggan over the top rope. After the match, both men attacked Duggan when Hogan entered the ring with a chair and cleared DiBiase and Andre.
AFTERWARD:
- President Jack Tunney declared that Ted Dibiase was not WWF champion because he needed to pin/submit the champion. Andre was not the champion because he had surrendered the title. Hogan was not the champion because he was officially pinned.
- President Jack Tunney declared that the title was vacant and that a wrestling tournament at Wrestlemania 4 would determine the new champion. Since Ted Dibiase won the Royal Rumble as well as the fact that Hogan and Andre were the last two champions, all three would get first round bye's at the tournament. Tunney declared that the tournament will also include the top 10 contenders to the WWF title for a total of 13 participants in the tournament.
- Tunney also could not determine a true #1 contender for the Intercontinental title and declared that, at Wrestlemania, there will be a 10-man battle royal to determine the #1 contender to face Honky Tonk Man later in the card.
